A significant children's ministry training opportunity is taking place here in Chiang Mai.

It is a Global Children's Ministry Conference called gcmEquip.

The conference will take place at the Empress Hotel, 23-25 May 2012.

There will be a number of international speakers and delegates from around 50 nations attending.

I have been in communication with the organiser, Sylvia Foth, and they are very keen to welcome and encourage local children's leaders to attend.

In order to facilitate this, registration fees are significantly reduced for local participants.

Special Price (for local Thailand attendees):

3-day Conference 2,250 Baht $75 (reduced from $200)*

Pre-Conference Workshop (22nd) 750 Baht $25*

In addition, a sponsor has agreed to provide a number of scholarships for selected Thai children's leaders.

We are also looking for people who would be willing to help translate (English-Thai) for the main sessions and workshops.

• Thai children's leaders that you would like to recommend for a scholarship
• Those who could assist with translation

It is significant that this conference is being held in Thailand. I hope that we will take this opportunity for Thai children's leaders to partner with others from around the world to develop our vision and ministry on a global level.

Powerpack S.E.Asia are delighted to introduce our partners - Hope for Myanmar.

The directors are pictured here with their family.

They have a base in Yangon where run a children's centre caring for 25 children.

We have worked together on the translation of Powerpack children's ministry resources into Burmese language.

They have been proactive in setting up food and income generation projects.

This Sunday we started a series on Finances for Transformers.

The first session was on tithing.

Arise! (Thailand)

Let’s gather the children of our city, in praise, worship and prayer

A fantastic resource that we have used extensively here in Thailand are the "God Rod" dramas developed by Jeff Smith of Salt & Light Ministries.

We have translated and recorded some of the soundtracks into Thai so that the dramas can be more accessible to Thai performers and audiences alike.

I September last year we were privileged to have Jeff Smith visit from America and give training to children and leaders.

The very first "God Rod" drama and one that has been used worldwide is a powerful Easter message set to "Arise My Love" by Newsong.

Jeff taught this drama to us at a training day.

We are now pleased to have been able to translate and record the track in Thai. It was a difficult song to sing but we were blessed to be helped by a Thai singer K. Aye. K. Aye is the leader of a performing arts troupe that tour Thailand presenting the gospel creatively in schools.

A team of children at Baan Saan Fan have learned this drama and will be performing as part of an Easter presentation.

Last week it was great to be able to record two more Powerpack songs in Thai.

The songs are "Undefeated Champion" and "I am a Friend of God".

Children in Thailand have been enjoying singing these songs for some time but we only had a rough demo.

Somkhit sang the lead vocal. Somkhit is a young worship leader in our Thai congregation. He sang on some of the songs on our first Thai album. He has also been on the team in various Powerpack conferences and events.

The children's choir consisted of 7 girls from Baan Saan Fan: Hope, Sarah, Faith, Ruth, Esther, Abi and Debbie. They practices and prepared well and did an excellent job. The recording engineer was impressed and complimented them.

We recorded the songs at CCI Studio at Payap University, Chiang Mai. Khun Ood was the engineer.

We are very happy with the results and look forward to distributing this new resource.
